Wisdom Teeth Third molars, also known as wisdom teeth, are the last teeth to erupt in the mouth. These teeth can often cause problems if there is little room in the mouth or if they begin to erupt improperly. Extraction may be necessary if wisdom teeth threaten the alignment of other permanent teeth, or if they cause severe pain or infection. Implantology Some of our surgeons have completed additional training and gained extensive experience in implantology. An implant is the surgical placement of an artificial tooth root into the bone to replace a missing tooth. The implant provides a platform for a permanent or removable appliance such as an artificial tooth. Dentofacial Deformities This includes correction of abnormal growth of facial bones and their associated structures (jaws, chin, nose, cheeks and orbital regions).
Facial Trauma Repair and correct damaged facial bones, teeth, and soft tissues. Pathology Diagnosis and treatment of tumors, cancers, cysts, infections, or other abnormalities of the facial bones, teeth, and soft tissues. Preprosthetic Surgery Surgical preparation of the jaws and tissues for future denture, crown and bridge construction. Orthodontic Surgery Uncover and surgically aid the proper eruption of teeth. Temporomandibular Joint Pain and Dysfunction Surgical management of jaw joint pain, limitation of motion or locking of the lower jaw. Cosmetic/Aesthetic Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery Cosmetic/aesthetic surgery on bony and soft tissues improves facial form and rejuvenates the face. This includes chin augmentation, removal of facial fat and other procedures. Reconstructive surgery is done to reestablish form and function after injury or cancer surgery. Computerized Video Imaging Computerized X-ray analysis and video imaging allows the surgeon to demonstrate expected changes in facial appearance from various surgical procedures for skeletal deformities and cosmetic enhancement.
